Why this archive is for sale

Why this archive is for sale

Why this archive is for sale is because  Carney Heritage Productions Ltd is a one man business and I cannot guarantee that this Scottish heritage legacy can be saved for posterity. I cannot  provide the archive the perpetual mass exposure that a leading collection can facilitate. Because this is the reality that I face I therefore, for the long term preservation of and access to the archive, put my unique, award winning, authentic and validated archive on the market.
The ideal new owner for the archive to be located is within a world renowned organisation for Scottish heritage or world ethnology. Such an organisation can save it for posterity and provide access to diverse users which I cannot facilitate.
As all the clips are digitised and linked to a searchable data base they are in the ideal format for utility and monetisation by such a new owner to optimise.
We supply you above with a listing of all our clips and thumbnails showing the topics and scope of our award winning world distributed footage. Our clips are  authentic and unique digital films  about Scotland’s past featuring the ordinary people their life and work from the late 1800s to the present day. No other heritage archive of this type is available any where in the world.

For this unpredictable success in the past the future for the archive cannot be predicted also, but offers new and great future opportunities for other uses many as yet have not even been identified. Its future is bright and has no end point.

Heritage endorsement

Emeritus Professor Henry Ellington of the Robert Gordon University and the person tasked with writing the book which was published in 2002, under the title ‘The Robert Gordon University – A History’ has made the following statement about Don Carneys contribution, as a past academic at RGU, to our North East life.
“Indeed, the author would confirm that Don has probably done as much to promote and preserve knowledge and understanding of pre-1950’s NE rural life as Lewis Grassic Gibbon.”

Dementia and Alzheimer reminiscence therapy  endorsement

Dr Ad— xxxxx GP and lifestyle medicine advocate

“Unfortunately despite a lot of advances, medical therapies do not help a great deal in Dementia. However I recently enjoyed meeting up with Dr Don Carney.  I am fascinated by his non drug intervention featuring customised digital film clips and its potential to massively help people with dementia.
He uses digital film clips to document footages of family lived experiences and significant geographic locations linked to one’s family background. The clips can show how people’s ancestors worked the land, went to sea, contributed within their local communities, how they were educated, what religious faiths they might have had, the type of architecture which surrounded them, the dialect they spoke, the domestic technology which they enjoyed, how the family might have lived, their role in wartime, their environmental considerations and their sense of self sufficiency and relationships within their societies.
